This means, the more treatment you get in a shorter period of time, the more likely you are to see dramatic results. This often means paying out of pocket around $65 per treatment, but it doesn't have to. Community acupuncture can provide up to three treatments for that amount! After your condition resolves or diminishes in it's severity, you can taper off your visits and keep acupuncture in your back pocket as a tool for the next time something bothersome crops up. Take a look at this article addressing the efficacy of acupuncture and the cost of treatment in the New York Times. Be well! Ready to stop? I don't need to convince you that it's a good idea. You have to convince yourself that you are ready and provide yourself with the support and care you need to make it happen. Acupuncture has been shown to aid in smoking cessation, especially when in combination with community support. The National Acupuncture Detox Association (NADA) has developed a 5 point protocol in wide use across the world to aid with reducing addiction to all kinds of chemical substances, including nicotine. You can read more about NADA at http://www.acudetox.com Helping you help yourself, we are starting a quitting smoking acupuncture group program at Kunlun Community Acupuncture and Knott Street Health. Starting soon, there will be small revolving 3-5 person groups forming to give and receive support in a small group acupuncture setting. Starting with a 2 week daily acupuncture for addiction intensive, we will give you the tools you need to quit: daily treatment, others making the same journey at the same time, and herbal formulas specifically designed to help treat the physical side effects of quitting and help your body heal from nicotine use. We will also discuss the mental and emotional effects of both smoking and not smoking, and help you find new healthier lifestyle habits to replace the less than healthy ones. After the two weeks, group and private appointments will be available for further support as you need it. Contact me for more information, or to express your interest to join groups forming in the near future. Group acupuncture, also known as Community acupuncture is individual treatment given in a group setting. Patients share a room and practitioner for a treatment that is identical in every way to private treatment except for cost and shared space. Group treatment is less expensive than private treatment and just as, if not more effective. Healing in a room full of others who are healing can be a powerful experience that breaks down the barriers of individuality, while honoring unique experience. Knowing that we are not alone, however hushed that knowing may be is a powerful tool for transformation. Though health concerns may be discussed in quiet tones with others present, be assured that all information is otherwise kept confidential. The importance of privacy is discussed with all patients at the start of treatment. Group treatment is an effective way to receive acupuncture because it allows for continuity of treatment without enormous cost. Because acupuncture is a therapy and not a one shot cure, often multiple treatments are needed to completely resolve a symptom. To offer the most effective and comprehensive care possible, treatments are $20 per hour. Soon after your initial treatment, a full intake should be done. This takes a bit more time. Please budget an hour and a half and $30 for this one time interview and treatment. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for many conditions. Pain, symptoms of stress, anxiety/depression, insomnia, immune, autoimmune, and endocrine disorders are all well treated. Please call with specific questions about your health concerns or to schedule your appointment. We look forward to seeing you at the clinic!
